RIP CURL PRO POSTPONED AT BELLS
Sunday, March 27th, 2005 - Organisers have postponed the Rip Curl Pro at Bells declaring Easter Sunday an official lay day after the incoming tide filled in the slight swell lines that were evident earlier this morning.
The Top 45 of the Foster's Men's World Tour had assembled in the Bells car park at 6am awaiting a report from Contest Director Damien Hardman who drove west down to Johanna way hunting waves before dawn. Unfortunately, conditions down there were small and the wind was tending onshore.

Ben Dunn has won a wildcard into the Rip Curl Pro and judging by his incredible surfing during the Chupa Chups expression session, he'll be a serious player once the main event begins - He faces Andy Irons and Mick Fanning in heat 1!

The Rip Curl Pro was then placed on hold until 11am, hoping for a bump in the swell, but the wait was in vain.
Big crowds, admitted free of charge, have still gathered at Bells on what is still a beautiful sunny day. Dependent upon swell, they will be entertained by either Rip Curl GromSearch or the Play It Safe By The Water Junior Challenge. A jetski expression session will be the alternative if the ocean calm continues. At 2pm there will be a Rip Curl team autograph signing on the beach, and there will later be live music on the Deakin stage at the Foster's Beer Garden.
The wait continues to put the world's best surfers out in the best conditions possible. The next call for the Rip Curl Pro will be at 7am tomorrow (Monday) morning. Keep up to date with the latest developments on the Rip Curl Pro, or watch the action on the Downtown Theatre on www.ripcurl.com
Pray for surf!
