2004 Foster's Men's World Championship Tour (WCT)
Competition Postponed Due To Small Surf
Saturday, May 29, 2004 (Tavarua and Namotu Islands, Fiji) The Quiksilver Pro was again postponed today due to small surf. Organizers of the Foster's men's World Championship Tournament (WCT) are expecting a new swell to arrive tomorrow, allowing round two to resume in good conditions.
Clean 2ft (0.6m) surf was on offer at 'Cloudbreak' this morning. Lack of wind making pristine conditions, with glass-like waves rolling over the shallow reef break.

At 4pm (Fiji time) another slice of Island life will be broadcast live on www.quiksilver.com, with a traditional Kava ceremony taking place on Tavarua. Contestants in the Quiksilver Pro will join local Fijians for the symbolic welcoming gesture, which is believed to bless the tournament with great surf.
In other related surfing news, world #5 Joel Parkinson (Gold Coast, AUS) and his fiancée Monica welcomed the birth of their first child in the early hours this morning. 'Evie Kate Parkinson' entered the world weighing 8lbs, following 10-hours labor. All family members are doing great.
