Friday, May 28, 2004 (Tavarua and Namotu Islands, Fiji) The Quiksilver Pro was postponed today due to small surf. Organizers of the Foster's men's World Championship Tournament (WCT) are expecting a major swell to arrive Sunday, allowing round two to resume in great conditions, but another decision will still be made tomorrow by 8am (local time) in case of an early pulse.
Clean 3ft (1m) surf was on offer at 'Cloudbreak' this morning. A boatload of surfers headed out for the dawn patrol and reported fun, playful waves.
Brazilian Paulo Moura, who is next against Australian Darren O'Rafferty when round two commences, was among the group who caught a few early ones.
"It was fun out there this morning," said Moura. "Only 2-3 foot, but perfect direction running down the reef. There were only a few of us out, so we had a great time."

Given the lay day, many contestants are planning a day trip off Tavarua and Namotu Islands for a round of golf at nearby Nadi. For those who remain, fishing jaunts, games of tennis, or more relaxed activities such as reading a book or watching a DVD will quickly fill in the gaps between incredible meals provided on both Islands.
At 5pm (local Fijian time) a slice of Island life will be broadcast live on www.quiksilver.com, with former WCT competitor John 'Shmoo' Shimooka hosting a guided tour of Tavarua Island and interviewing many of the characters who make this paradise location the place to be during the Quiksilver Pro.

The 'Island Express' ferry, which ran aground and began taking on water yesterday, has been repaired. The ferry serves as the marshalling area for competitors, as well as the vantage point for surfers, media and spectators to view the tournament from.
