Mundaka, Euskadi, Spain
Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) www.aspworldtour.com 2004 Foster's Men's World Championship Tour (WCT)
Waiting Game Continues
Saturday, October 9, 2004 (Mundaka, Euskadi, Spain) The Billabong Pro continued its wait for more ideal conditions today,
with the US$260,000 event again postponed. A new swell is expected to arrive tomorrow, with contest organizers hopeful of
beginning round three of the Foster's men's ASP World Championship Tournament (WCT).
No waves were on offer at Mundaka or Bakio this morning, though gusty southwest winds increased throughout the day and
supported the cold front brewing off the Basque coastline.
An autograph session took place at 1pm at the contest site at Mundaka, with the townsfolk coming out to meet the surfing
stars. Reigning two-time world champion Andy Irons (HAW), Australians Joel Parkinson and Michael Lowe, together with local
wildcard Hodei Collazo happily signed event posters and posed for countless photos.
